PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a signal loss caused by a photoelectron receiver regarding a signal loss circuit, the photoelectron receiver, a device and a method for generating a signal detecting a signal loss. SOLUTION: A signal loss(LOS) circuit of the photoelectron receiver is provided with a current/voltage circuit and a comparator circuit. The current/ voltage circuit receives a DC current signal including a DC current signal component from a photo detector included in the photoelectron receiver and supplies a DC voltage signal. The comparator circuit receives the DC voltage signal from the current/voltage circuit and compared the DC voltage signal with a reference voltage signal to produce a signal detecting the signal loss(LOS) from the DC voltage signal.
