PURPOSE: A cooling fan controlling method is provided to control a cooling fan according to the cooking conditions of oven cooking and grill cooking. CONSTITUTION: A cooling fan controlling method comprises the steps of: operating a cooling fan while cooking after judging if oven cooking or grill cooking is in progress; operating the cooling fan until the temperature of the oven is up to a certain temperature after finishing cooking; and continuously operating the cooling fan as long as the rest time in post-purge operation time by comparing the post-purge operation time determined according to the grill cooking time with the cooling fan operation time after the completion of cooking when cooking is finished and the temperature of the oven fell under a certain temperature. Herein, the control of the post-purge of the cooling fan is performed properly. Therefore, the damages or shortening of life of components due to the over heating in a microwave oven is prevented.
