PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for single-phase sequentially fixing polyphase motor which is of simple circuitry and produces few errors. SOLUTION: A two-phase modulation control motor drive unit produces pulse width modulation signals, for sequentially fixing the arms of an inverter for driving a polyphase alternating-current motor. Either of the building-up timing and the fall timing of a polyphase PWM signal in each phase created in advance, based on a voltage command value and the modulation period of the polyphase PWM signal are used to determine the other of the timings of the polyphase PWM signal (step 102). Thus the time for next switching of the inverter to be performed is determined in advance, and operation without delay in response is realized. |
