PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor which can easily adjust, the pressure applied to a stator and a rotor even at start and driving times, and moreover assures high output and efficiency during operation. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor is provided with a stator 2, which vibrates when a piezoelectric element 12 is driven and a rotor 3, which is pressurized in contact with the stator 2 to rotate due to the vibration of the stator 2. The rotor 3 is supported to rotate with respect to a housing 1 and is supported immovably in the rotating axis direction. The stator 2 is fixed to the housing 1 via an ultra-magnetostrictive element 9, and the pressure applied to the rotor 3 can be adjusted by the displacement of the ultra-magnetostrictive element 9. |
