PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that light leaking from a light guide plate is emitted to the viewing range of an observer to generate luminance unevenness in the display of a liquid crystal display panel in a front light type liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The angles of the slopes 1d and 1e of triangular projecting parts 1b of the light guide plate 1 having a first principal surface 1a which is flat and opposed to the display surface of the liquid crystal panel 3 and a second principal surface 1b which is opposite to the first principal surface 1a and has projecting parts 1c having triangular cross sections and continuously formed from one side surface on a light source 2 side to the side surface on the side opposite thereto are formed so that the leakage light L1 of the light guide plate 1 is emitted to the outside of the viewing range of the observer. The reduction of the display contrast of the liquid crystal display panel 3 due to the luminance unevenness in the display of the liquid crystal display panel 3 is not caused. |
