<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of electrostatic destruction of an MR head, in a magnetic recording and reproducing device provided with the MR head. SOLUTION: When a system controller 11 detects the time when a cassette case is inserted by the detection signal from a cassette sensor 15, the system controller 11 rotates a drum motor 33 via a motor driver 14 and detects the position of a reproducing magnetic head by the detection signal from an FG 31 and a PG 32 to control the drum motor 33 so that the reproducing magnetic head is stopped in the position that does not face toward the direction of the insertion port of the cassette case. When the system controller 11 detects the time when the cassette case is ejected by the cassette sensor 15, the system controller 11 also controls the rotary drive of the drum motor 33.</p> |
