PURPOSE: A system and method for measuring RF(Radio Frequency) quality using SMS(Short Message Service) in a radio communication network is provided to indicate the present location of a remote measuring device on a map using the latitude and longitude of the remote measuring device and to remotely control RF quality measurement through SMS if the remote measuring device arrives at a desired location for measurement. CONSTITUTION: An RF quality measuring system constructs a database for the feature management, state management, measurement history management and fault history management of remote measuring devices(301). Then the RF quality measuring system selects a target remote measuring device for measurement(302). The RF quality measuring system transmits a measurement start message to the selected remote measuring device using SMS(303). The selected remote measuring device measures call quality according to preset conditions, and the RF quality measuring system receives messages from the remote measuring device(305). The RF quality measuring system counts the received messages and judges whether a retransmission request is required(306). In case that the retransmission request is necessary, the RF quality measuring system sends a retransmission request message to the remote measuring device so that the message of an omitted number can be retransmitted(307,308). Meanwhile, if the retransmission request is unnecessary, the RF quality measuring system sends a measurement end message to the remote measuring device. Then the RF quality measuring system executes feature management, state management, measurement history management and fault history management(309).
