PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus where a problem on the excessive supply of toner is solved by easy control in terms of software. SOLUTION: In this image forming apparatus, and electrostatic latent image is formed on a photoreceptor 1, and an electrifying R2 for uniformly electrifying the surface of the photoreceptor 1 to a negative polarity, a developing unit 4 developing the formed electrostatic latent image to a developed image and a transfer R3 transferring the developed image to transfer paper are arranged around the photoreceptor 1. The developing part of the developing unit 4 is replenished with the toner by a toner replenishing device, and toner concentration in a developing device is detected by a T sensor 5. A toner replenishment control part 11 controls a toner replenishing part based on the result obtained by comparing the output value Vt of the sensor 5 with a reference value Vtref. By using the result obtained by comparing the output value Vt with the reference value Vtref, the reference value Vtref is corrected to a new reference value Vtref'. As a result, the problem on a surface staining image and the blowoff of toner caused by excessive toner concentration is solved. |
