PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus equipped with a control means for controlling so that prescribed image density can be obtained in the minimum adjusting time. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus for forming an image constituted of a fixed toner image on a recording medium by using a developing device 3 for holding two-component developer is provided with a toner concentration measuring means for measuring the toner concentration in the developer, a toner image density measuring means for measuring the density of a reference toner image having a reference potential, and a toner concentration adjusting means for increasing/decreasing the toner concentration in the developer in accordance with a deviation from the prescribed target concentration of the density of the reference toner image, and the toner in the developing device is increased/decreased based on both of the deviation and a conversion coefficient selected in accordance with the concentration area of the toner concentration in the developer. |
