PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrences of the temperature rise in the paper non-passing part of a heating member and a pressing member and the wrinkles of a transfer material and the breaking of the bearing part of a fixing device or the like due to the temperature rise in the paper non-passing part at the time of performing fixing for a small-sized transfer material. SOLUTION: Control is performed so as to secure the safety of a heating roller bearing regardless of intermittent or continuous printing. Thus, the number of printing sheets is integrated regardless of the continuous and intermittent printing within a specified time after the start of printing, and when the printing for the specified number of sheets is performed within the specified time, printing temperature is switched, and in the case that the printing for the specified number of sheets is not performed within the specified time, the count of the number of printing sheets is cleared, and recounting is started, so that the control from a first sheet is performed again. Thus, the temperature of the bearing of a heating roller is set as 228 deg.C which is <=230 deg.C of heat-resistant temperature. |
