PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce mounting area by eliminating a rectifier filter and a stabilized dc power supply, improve the power efficiency, and to provide an overcurrent detector circuit which can inform the outside about the overcutrrent in the system. SOLUTION: This is an overcurrent detector circuit to detect an overcurrent in a system having an ac voltage input. It has a rectifier section 200 containing a diode bridge to rectify the input ac voltage from the above-mentioned system, a detector section 300 located after the rectifier 200 and containing a transistor 23 to output a signal when the above-mentioned rectifier 200 has an overvoltage output, and an overvoltage informing section 400 located following the detector section 300 and having a relay r11 to inform of an overvoltage when the above- mentioned detector 300 outputs a signal. Thus the above-mentioned purpose is achieved.
