PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared receiver which can be reduced in power consumption at standby time without adding any complicated circuit to the receiver nor increasing the size of the receiver. SOLUTION: An infrared receiver is provided with a pin photodiode 1 which outputs an electric current upon receiving an infrared ray, a signal processing circuit 28 which converts the current outputted from the diode 1 into a prescribed signal and outputs the signal, and a power supply terminal 10 to which the operating electric power of the circuit 28 is supplied. The receiver is also provided with a power switch 20 connected between the terminal 10 and circuit 28, a first power supply control circuit 27 equipped with a switch 13 which is turned on when the diode 1 receives the infrared ray and a first integration circuit which is connected between the switches 13 and 20 and has a prescribed time constant, and a second power supply control circuit 26 equipped with a second integration circuit which is connected between the signal processing circuit 28 and power switch 20 and has a prescribed time constant. |
