PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a magnetron, enabling positive airtight brazing of parts to be brazed to a stem insulator. SOLUTION: A brazing material 23 is provided for hermetically brazing a joint metal plate 20 into which cathode leads 15a, 15b are inserted and a cylindrical metal container 22 to central joint faces 19a, 19b and an outer joint faces 19c formed on the stem insulator 19 at the same time. A larger amount of brazing material is applied near the cathode leads 15a, 15b and the joint metal plate 20.
