PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key code processor for accepting inputs from both a keyboard input device (12) and a simple character input device, and for converting them into prescribed character codes. SOLUTION: A plurality of character codes are assigned to a composite key (3) of a simple character input device, and key data indicating the depressed composite key (3) are converted into a specific key code indicating that at least three kinds of keys of the keyboard input device (12) are simultaneously depressed. The specific key code is constituted of the combination of key codes inputted from the keyboard input device (12) so that the simple character input device can be connected in parallel to the keyboard input device (12), and the specific key code is constituted of the combination of key codes which are not outputted by the normal input operation of the keyboard input device (12) so that the specific key code can be discriminated from the key codes inputted from the keyboard input device (12). The specific key code is successively converted into the character codes assigned to the composite key (3) each time this is repeatedly inputted.
