PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system which enables a user to easily draw drawings, frames of graphs and tables, etc., on a large screen and to easily recognize the detailed displays as well. SOLUTION: This image display system has a display 11 having two screens; a large screen 30 and a small screen 32, a pen member 34 which permits image input to both of the large screen 30 and the small section 32 and a control section 36. The two screens 30 and 32 of the display 11 are composed of particle display media 15, respectively. The pen member 34 is applied with a negative DC voltage at the pen tip by the control section 36. The pen member 34 is brought into proximity to or contact with either one screen of the screens 30 and 32 to increase the electric field intensity of the screen region to or with which the pen member is brought into proximity or contact, by which the black particles 42 are moved toward a display substrate 20 side and the new images are formed. Current is passed to the pixels corresponding to other screen connected by wiring to the pixels of the corresponding regions to generate the electric fields, by which the black particles 42 are moved to the display substrate 20 side and the new images are formed in the same positions.
