PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a doorplate by which the doorplate can convey a high-class impression without increasing production cost. SOLUTION: This method consists of a process of cutting out a rectangular parallelepiped base board from raw wood (figure 3 (a)), a process of engraving a full name 2 and a crest 3 on a front face of the base board (figure 3 (b)) a process of coloring in paint the engraved full name 2 and the crest 3 except character edge of the full name and a pattern portion of the crest (figure 3 (c)), and a process of thermocompression bonding of gold foil to decorate the character edge of the full name 2 and the patter portion of the crest 3 (figure 3 (d)).
