摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical interconnectorless SOFC having uniform temp. distribution over the cell longer axis direction. SOLUTION: A solid electrolyte fuel cell is composed of an air electrode 14 in a cylindrical form, a solid electrolyte 13 formed on the inner surface of the air electrode 14, a fuel electrode 12 formed on the inner surface of the solid electrolyte 13, a conductive tube 11 inserted in the fuel electrode 12 and supplying a fuel gas, and a catalyst substance installed in the gap between the tube 11 and fuel electrode 12, conecting the two electrically, and promoting the fuel gas reforming reaction, wherein the fuel electrode 12 has the minimum porosity in the region close to the gas blowout hole of the tube 11 and increases the porosity as going apart from that region. By means of porosity adjustment of the fuel electrode 12, the rate of hydrogen gas permeation to the solid electrolyte interface is reduced in the region having a higher hydrogen concentration so as to suppress the battery reaction, and in the region having a low hydrogen gas concentration, the rate of permeation of hydrogen gas is heightened to promote the battery reaction.
