PURPOSE: A preventing device of a direction shift of an engine typed forklift is provided to easily install in an existing forklift. CONSTITUTION: A gear typed hub is assembled by inserting in an output shaft(14) of a transmission(10). A speed sensor is fixed in a case of the transmission. The speed sensor detects the speed of a vehicle by generating a variable voltage according to an interval chamber between teeth of the tub. The detected traveling speed is inputted into an electronic circuit module(50). A transmission control unit(60) controls a forward solenoid(20) and a backward solenoid(22) according to signals from the electronic circuit module. An alarming device(70) is connected with the transmission control unit to alarm the high speed by flickering an alarm lamp or ringing a buzzer.
