PURPOSE: An apparatus for managing power in a Bluetooth system and a method therefor are provided to enhance stability in a standby time and a Bluetooth network operation by transiting a master state into a slave state and preventing the exhaustion of a power in case that the residual quantity of the power is under a uniform level when the Bluetooth system is a master state. CONSTITUTION: A transmission management unit of a master side instructs a power management unit to monitor a power consumption quantity and inform the monitored power consumption quantity during a uniform time or at a uniform period(S11). In case that the informed power consumption quantity is reduced under a threshold value set by the transmission management unit, the transmission management unit transmits a master slave switch request signal to a transmission management unit of a slave side through a Bluetooth transmission unit(S12). The transmission management unit of the slave side receives the switch request and confirms the power consumption quantity of a slave system through the power management unit(S13,S14), and transmits a response to the conversion request to a transmission management unit of the master side through the Bluetooth transmission unit(S15). In case that the transmitted response is permitted to the conversion request, the transmission management unit of the slave side instructs the Bluetooth transmission unit to convert slave/master(S16,S17). The Bluetooth transmission units of the slave side and the master side perform the slave/master conversion process set in a Bluetooth(S18).
