PURPOSE: A swash plate type compressor is provided to reduce rolling of a double-headed piston influencing durability and compressing efficiency of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A compressor includes a front cylinder block(1) and a rear cylinder block(2) having a plurality of cylinder bores(1a,2a) arranged therein parallel with each other; a front housing(3) and a rear housing(4) joined to both sides of the front cylinder block and the rear cylinder block with valve plates(3a,4a) interposed; a driving axis(5) rotatably supported on a central part of the front housing and the rear housing; a swash plate(6) slopingly joined to the driving axis to rotate together with the driving axis; a plurality of double-headed pistons(8) having pairs of head parts inserted into the cylinder bores of the front cylinder block and the rear cylinder block corresponding with each other and bridge parts connecting the head parts and having grooves, to which the swash plate is inserted, installed to a periphery of the swash plate with a shoe(7) interposed to compress refrigerant by being interlocked with rotary movement of the swash plate and linearly reciprocating in the cylinder bores of the front cylinder block and the rear cylinder block; and a pair of rolling preventive ribs(20,20') extended from both sides of the bridge parts of the double-headed pistons and having radiuses of curvature same with the bridge parts to reduce unneeded rolling generated on reciprocation of the double-headed pistons.
