A method for combating the fire blight pathogen Erwinia amylovora, or a bacterial blight pathogen such as Pseudomonas syringae pv. Syringae , or Pseudomonas Syringae pv morsprunorum , or a bacterial blight pathogen, whereby Erwinia amylovora and/or the bacterial blight pathogen is/are treated with slaked lime is disclosed. The slaked lime can thus be applied in the form of a (preferably saturated) aqueous solution. |
