METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING PNEUMATIC TIRES

The present invention relates to an apparatus adapted to supply a semi-finished product made of elastomeric material towards a packaging and/or assembly station of a rubber item. More particularly, the assembly station is the assembly station of a tire. The semi-finished product is associated to a traction-inextensible protective layer. The assembly formed by the semi-finished product and by the protective layer is wound around a storing and feeding spool associated to a braking device. The present apparatus is provided with detachment means, at least one of which is motorized, adapted to separate the semi-finished product from the protective layer, the latter being rewound around a collecting spool rotated by a motor.
