<p>Various drainages (for example, methane fermentation digested liquors, domestic drainage, sewage, tap water, fish farming water, active sludge-processed sewage, waste water from food plants) containing nitrogen, phosphorus and hardly degradable matters causing eutrophication of lakes and rivers and water containing endocrine disruptors are efficiently purified by degrading harmful substances by oxidation and reduction with the use of oxygen radical, hydroxy radical and diphenyl-para-picryhydral radical. An apparatus for purifying water containing dissolved organic matters and trace harmful substances having an anode (1) which is formed by coating clay and/or glass with a glaze prepared by mixing 2 to 15% by weight of a transition metal with 1 to 10% of a transition metal oxide and sintering at 800 to 1500°C or coating a metal surface with a glaze prepared by mixing anatase-type titanium oxide, tin oxide, ruthenium oxide and platinum particles, and then molding or welding by sintering again at 580 to 980°C.</p> |
