<p>The invention concerns methods for processing a signal emitted by a particle detector. Said methods are characterised in that they consist in: detecting in said signal the portions where the signal is greater than a predetermined value V1, measuring the maximum value Vmax reached by the signal in each of said portions, and associating with each of said portions an analog quantity Q which, at least in a predetermined range of values ΔV1 of said maximum value Vmax, is an increasing function of (Vmax-V1).
