A device for determining the position of a sleeve, on the one hand in the vertical direction in relation to a fixture dummy (6) in or on a model (1) of a bone, and on the other hand in the transverse direction in relation to the longitudinal axis (13) of the fixture dummy. An expansion spacer (7) cooperates with the fixture dummy and the sleeve (4). An expansion screw is designed in such a way that, when acted upon, it in turn acts upon the expansion spacer so that the latter determined the position of the sleeve and thus of the template relative to the jaw bone and the fixture.
