PURPOSE: A chromate solution is provided which improves corrosion resistance by treating chromate solution on galvanized strip and obtains superior storage stability by preventing generation of sludge when storing the chromate solution for a long period of time, and a chromate treatment method using the chromate solution are provided. CONSTITUTION: In a chromate solution for chromate treating galvanized strip, the chromate solution having superior corrosion resistance and storage stability comprises chromium constituent having concentration of 80 to 130 g/L in which one or more compounds consisted of hexavalent chromium are mixed, wherein a ratio of trivalent chromium to the total chromium constituent is maintained to 0.3 to 0.6 so that hexavalent and trivalent chromium constituents coexist by adding reductant to the chromium constituent, thereby reducing a part of hexavalent chromium constituent to trivalent chromium constituent, and the chromate solution further comprises phosphorus constituent having concentration of 5 to 30 g/L, fluorine constituent having concentration of 1 to 5 g/L, and nickel constituent having concentration of 2 to 7 g/L.
