chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is improved method of preparing purine compounds of general formula A: wherein X is hydrogen, hydroxy, chlorine, Ra and Rb are hydrogen or acyl. Said compounds are useful in pharmaceutical industry. Method comprises reacting compound II: with compound of formula and L is leaving group to prepare compound of formula R1,R2,R3, and is then decarboxylated. The resulting compound of formula : wherein R1 is C1-C6 alkyl or phenyl-C1-C6 alkyl, R2 is chlorine, R3 is amino group or protected amino group, is converted into compound of formula A by converting radical R3 into unprotected amino group, reducing ester groups CO2R into CH2OH, and said groups are optionally converted into corresponding acyl derivatives or, radical R2 in compound of formula I is optionally converted into other value corresponding to value of radical X in compound of formula A. Also described is method of preparing intermediate compound of formula I. Invention makes it possible to prepare compound of formula A with yield which increases from 10.6% to 40% as compared with well known method.
