PURPOSE: An apparatus for transporting a media of an automated printer is provided to reduce the generation of a jitter by accurately controlling a position of a media to be transported, and by uniformly printing data to the media. CONSTITUTION: A stepping motor(110) is operated for transporting a media inserted into an automated printer. A main controller(105) controls the operation of the stepping motor(110). The main controller(105) generates a pulse signal for operating the stepping motor(110). An encoder(125) is contacted with the media transported by operating the stepping motor(110). In addition, the encoder(125) is rotated according that the media is transported. A sub controller(115) recognizes a present position of the media based on the number of rotation of the encoder(125) and the pulse signal output from the main controller(105). In addition, the sub controller(115) controls a header(120) in order to record data to the media at regular intervals.
