The invention relates to an arrangement for detachably securing a grinding wheel or a group of grinding wheels (1, 3, 5) on a wheel spindle (9), particularly on a machine for grinding the edges of spectacle lenses. Said inventive arrangement comprises an axially displaceable retaining shaft for securing the grinding wheel (13) arranged in a coaxial bore (11) on said grinding wheel, a retaining disk (20) is detachably secured on the free end of the shaft and clamping elements (17, 18, 19) disposed between the wheel spindle and the shaft for axially clamping and detaching the grinding wheel or the group of wheels between the wheel spindle and the retaining disk.
