Covering device used for covering a surface having three or more corners comprises a first rail (38) and a second rail (36) moving perpendicular to their longitudinal direction parallel to the surface, a curtain (41) arranged between the two rails and covering the surface depending on the position of the first and/or the second rail, and a cable-like tensioning device (42) made of an elastic material whose elastic flexibility allows complete opening and closing of the curtain. Preferred Features: The tensioning device is a synthetic resin cord braided with wear-resistant fibers or a rubber cord.
