The invention concerns a driving sprocket for bicycle crankset comprising a toothed ring whereof the ring is divided into a plurality of segments (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d), the segments being borne by a frame (16) mobile in rotation about an axis of the crankset, each sprocket segment being mobile between a low position, and a high position, a transfer system of each segment for transferring said segment from one position to the other, and an indexing mechanism for controlling the shifting system of the segments. The sprocket is characterised in that each segment (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) is mounted floating relative to the frame (16) and it is guided in its transfer movement along a trajectory including a radial component and a tangent component.
