A stretch edge elastic laminate (10) having a plurality of elastic filaments (22) substantially aligned in a machine direction and forming an elastic zone (20) and at least one stretch edge (31) positioned along a first lateral edge region (27) of the stretch edge elastic laminate (10) forming a first gasket zone (30). Desirably, an opposing second stretch edge (31) is positioned along a second lateral edge region (29) of the stretch adge elastic laminate (10) to form a second gasket zone (30). A nonwoven facing material (28 or 26) is bonded to at least one side of the elastic layer.
