The heater unit is in the form of a side duct compressor which sucks up, compresses and heats ambient air. The feeder unit for inserting heated air into the shoe(s) (1) comprises one or more tubes (3) inserted into every shoe. Each tube branches off from a pipe (4) connected to the outlet to the side duct compressor, and has an end sealed off or leading back to the outlet of the compressor. The side duct compressor in a housing is attached to the end side of the shelving unit with shelves (9) for the shoes. Gutters collect condensation water and discharge it away from the unit.
