Device for electrochemical treatment of electrically conducting flexible material in a conveyor unit comprises: electrolyte container; electrolyte conveying arrangement; transporting unit for conveying the material through the container; electrode roller rotating in the container; a conveyor belt; a contacting unit; and a current transfer unit. Device for electrochemically metallizing, etching, oxidizing and reducing an electrically conducting flexible material in a conveyor unit comprises: a container for an electrolyte; an electrolyte conveying arrangement; a transporting unit for conveying the material through the container; an electrode roller rotating in the container and having an ion-permeable electrically insulating layer on its electrochemically active casing surface; a conveyor belt for transporting the material into the container; a contacting unit for electrically contacting the material with a bath current source; and a current transfer unit for electrically connecting the other pole of the bath current source to the electrochemically active layers of the roller. An Independent claim is also included for a process for electrochemically metallizing, etching, oxidizing and reducing electrically conducting flexible material in a conveyor unit.
