PURPOSE: Provided is an antibacterial red dye having a silver sulfadiazine group, which can be used for cotton fabrics, therefore, the cotton fabrics, dyed with the antibacterial red dye, has a strong antibacterial property. CONSTITUTION: The antibacterial red dye represented by the formula(I) is produced by a process comprising the steps of: dissolving chlorocyanurate in cold water and adding a dispersing agent and stirring; adding 1-amino-8-naphthol-3,6-disulfonate and adding a water solution of soda ash to adjust pH to be 2.0-7.0 and performing a first condensation; separately, dissolving 2-naphthylamine-1,5-sulfonate in water and adding hydrochloric acid and nitrous acid and performing a diazotization; adding the condensed solution to the diazotized solution and adding the solution of the soda ash to adjust pH to be 6-8 and coupling to obtain a red dye; adding the silver sulfadiazine to the red dye and performing a second condensation. In the formula, A is hydrogen, methyl, vinyl sulfone, methoxy, and n and m are integers of 1-3.
