<p>A method and apparatus for a credit card inquiry using a high speed cable network is disclosed. The apparatus for a credit card includes: a communication unit for transmitting/ receiving data necessary for a credit card inquiry to/from a master modem in a high speed communication network; a connection unit for connecting to another credit card inquiry system; a first controlling unit for processing information from the communication unit and the connection unit; a first storing unit for storing programs and information related to the first controlling unit; an output unit for outputting the information from the first control unit; a reading unit for reading information in the credit card; a key input unit for receiving a value necessary for approving a credit dealing; a PSTN communication unit for performing a communication through a public switched telecommunication network; a second controlling unit for controlling the output unit, the card reading unit, the key input unit; and a second storing unit for storing programs and information related to the second controlling unit.</p> |
