The lock has a spring-tensioned latch bolt (3) and key-operated plastics bolt (4) with bolt tail (5). A spring member (8) is mounted in a free cut section (9) of the bolt tail which is spaced from both the top of the lock and from the bottom (11) of the lock. The tumbler is formed by two projections (7) of the spring member which fill out these spaces. The spring member has a hooked projection at its free end to be biased by the closing bit of the key.
