APPARATUS FOR SELECTING MENU IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL

PURPOSE: An apparatus for selecting a menu in a mobile communication terminal is provided to perform a menu selection function with an efficient GUI(Graphic User Interface) type by applying a pointing device with a track ball type to the menu selection of the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A track ball(400) corresponds to the operation of a terminal user and performs a rotation motion in a fixed position. A sensing unit(410) senses the all direction motion states of the track ball(400). A logic circuit unit(420) calculates a sensing value output from the sensing unit(410) as an all direction motion state value of the track ball(400). An MSM(Mobile Station Modem)(430) moves a menu on an LCD according to the all direction motion state value of the track ball(400) calculated in the logic circuit unit(420) and provides a function corresponding to the menu selected by the terminal user.
