This invention concerns a method for generating a control process for a hybrid vehicle electromechanical drive train. The invention is primarily intended for use in the automobile industry. The invention is used to define a mathematical model of the electromechanical drive train, as well as a criterion to be minimised and a performance profile that is representative of the use of the hybrid vehicle. The command variables are subsequently generated (U, dm) using a dynamic programming algorithm, whereupon said command variables (U, dm) are processed statistically in order to generate at least one mapping for each of the variables as a function of state and environment variables for the electromechanical drive train. Finally, a control process is defined using these mappings.
