Multilayer, biaxially oriented and thermofixed film comprising a crystallized thermoplastic base layer and at least one matt polyester covering layer includes triclosan in at least one layer. Multilayer, biaxially oriented and thermofixed film comprising a crystallized thermoplastic base layer and at least one matt polyester covering layer includes triclosan (2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxy diphenyl ether) in at least one layer, where the polyester is a blend of a polyethylene terephthalate homo- or copolymer and a copolyester in which the diol units are derived from aliphatic or alicyclic diols with 2-11 carbon atoms and the dicarboxylic acid units comprise 65-95 mole% isophthalic acid units, 5-15 mole% units derived from a sulfo-substituted aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 0-20 mole% units derived from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid of formula (I): HOOC(CH2)nCOOH (I) n = 1-11. An Independent claim is also included for production of the film by coextruding the base and covering layers and then biaxially stretching and thermofixing the film.
