PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filthy water treating apparatus in which flocculation/ settlement treatment of filthy water and dehydration treatment of the produced sediment can be suitably carried out simultaneously and which consists of a single apparatus provided with compact mechanisms to carry out both of the treatment. SOLUTION: This filthy water treating apparatus is provided with an agitation tank 1 for agitating filthy water IW while adding a flocculant, a settlement tank 2 where the water IW sent from the tank 1 is stored to settle the produced flocculated materials F and clean water OW is made to flow out to the outside from the upper part, a screw 3 for discharging the settled materials F to the outside of the tank 2 and a dehydration part 4 for dehydrating the discharged materials F. The part 4 is provided with a forcibly feeding pump 40, a pressure adjusting valve 41 and a dehydration flow path 42 having a filtration wall surface 42c and is controlled by the valve 41 so that water can be squeezed from the materials F forcibly fed to the path 42.
