The invention relates to a method for producing highly reactive polyisobutenes consisting of a polymer isobutene in the presence of a complex boron trifluoride and at least one cocatalyst at a reaction temperature of 60 to -4 DEG C in a liquid organic phase which is mixed with water in two steps for deactivating and extracting the catalyst in the organic phase.
