摘要 PURPOSE: A thin film transistor liquid crystal display using a polarizer substrate and a method of fabricating the liquid crystal display are provided to form a color filter on a lower glass substrate to improve light leakage caused by misalignment of upper and lower substrates. CONSTITUTION: A TFT-LCD includes lower and upper polarizers(1,10) for polarizing lights emitted from a back light in the direction of polarization axis, an insulating substrate(2) arranged on the lower polarizer, and a common electrode(6) placed beneath the upper polarizer. The TFT-LCD further includes a transistor(3) arranged at each pixel on the insulating substrate, a pixel electrode(4) formed on the insulating substrate and connected to the transistor, and a color filter(7) formed on the transistor and the pixel electrode. The TFT-LCD further has an alignment film(5) formed on the color filter including an exposed portion of the insulating layer and under the common electrode, spacers(8) placed between the upper and lower alignment films and a liquid crystal layer(9) filled between the spacers.
