PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacked forming press of variable pressure system and a stacked forming method for enhancing ceramic stack quality and working efficiency. SOLUTION: The pressure of an air made to flow inside a pressurizing cylinder 51 is increased by expanding a fluid housed in the cylinder 51, the pressure is increased to the pressure of several ten times through a pressure amplifier 55 provided inside the cylinder 51 so that pressurization is effected by lifting a piston ram 33, and compressed air flowing in valves 40, 41 are provided on the prescribed positions so as to progress stepwise the flowing-in of the compressed air for raising the pressure. In order to reduce the pressure only by fixed pressure in the state of maximum set pressure, an compressed air flowing- out valve 63 is provided on the cylinder 51, and by building-in a microprocessor, the whole processes are automatically controlled. In this way, the pressure is gradually raised to the prescribed pressure neither raising abruptly to the maximum set pressure, nor discending abruptly to a 'zero' state.
