PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire with an optimized cross section form and a product form design method applied to design the tire with the optimized cross section, which specifies a wide design scope with few design variables and attains efficiently the optimized product form with an optimal product performance when a product form is designed depending on an evaluation value of the product performance. SOLUTION: The method defines a plurality of basic forms of the product form as deformation forms of the specified mode of the product form, generates a plurality of sample product forms by combining linearly the basic forms on the basis of the design of experiments, calculates the evaluation value of the product performance of the sample product forms, and solves a problem of the optimized product form design by extracting the optimized product form, the evaluation value of which is optimal, based upon the evaluation value of the product performance.
