PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the driver selection and copy and setting system of hardware capable of reducing any artificial load or danger, and constructing a software environment whose quality is high. SOLUTION: The difference of hardware such as floppy (registered trademark) disk drives 11 and 12 mounted on target computers 1 and 2 is detected by executing programs 14 and 24, and the kinds of the floppy disk drives 11 and 12 are judged from the detected result and the contents of hardware data bases 15 and 25, and drivers corresponding to the judged floppy disk drives 11 and 12 are automatically selected from driver groups 16 and 26, and the selected drivers are automatically copied and driver-setting to operating system environments 27 and 27.
