A tow bar beam structure (11) for attachment to a vehicle includes a vertical web portion (15) comprising a flat bar steel (16) having attachment means (20, 21) at its ends for attachment to the vehicle, first and second parallel flanges (18, 19) attached to and extending along a major portion of the web portion (17), and plate-shaped mounting means (26a, 26b) for a tow bar (12).
