CHIRAL CATALYST FOR REDUCTION OF KETONE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a very useful catalyst which gives excellent chirality in the asymmetric reduction of a ketone to the secondary alcohol. SOLUTION: An N-carboxy anhydride represented by formula (2) is reacted with an aryl metal to get a 1,1-diarylmethanol represented by formula (3), and then the 1,1-diarylmethanol thus obtained is reacted with a boroxine represented by formula (4) to get a chiral catalyst represented by structural formula (1).
