PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve to enable supplying or removing of a cover cardboard and a cover of a cover adhering unit in a human engineering working height. SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing the cover for bookmaking comprises a cardboard supply unit 30 for supplying a cover cardboard 4 and back insertion paper 5 to be removed at each one from a cardboard magazine 32, a blank supply unit 10 for supplying a cover blank 3 removed at each one from a blank magazine 11, a blank cylinder 20 for receiving the supplied blank 3 by a gripper, pawl, guiding the blank 3 through an adhesive coating roller 21 to connect the supplied cardboard 4 to the paper 5, a folding and retaining unit 40 for folding a bulged cover blank edge around the edge of the cardboard to press the cover 2 for bookbinding, a delivering unit 50 for delivering the cover 2 to a pile, and a material flow of the cardboards 4, 5 and the cover 2 passing through the cylinder 20. In this case, the flow of the cardboards 4, 5 and the cover 2 is directed at an upward gradient to a horizontal installing surface 7 of the machine to the unit 50.
