OIL IN WATER TYPE EMULSIFIED COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil in water type emulsified composition excellent in emulsion stability and becoming low in irritating properties even if a surfactant is not substantially added. SOLUTION: The oil in water type emulsified composition contains (a) a water swellable clay mineral and (b) an acidic water-soluble polymer having a structure represented by general formula (I) (wherein, R1 and R2 are respectively a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, R3 is a 2-30C alkyl group and X and Y are each an integer of 1 or more) and containing 10-56 mass % of a carboxyl group (-COOH group) and does not substantially contain (c) a surfactant.
